Meet the Owner of KCA

Sherri Coffey

I’m Sherri Coffey and I’m the owner of Kids Care Academy. I have my MBA in Business from Purdue University and a CDA specializing in infants. I have 5 children with my husband of 30 years. I have been in the childcare industry for over 25 years and look forward to KCA’s growth and success.

Jeffersonville KCA

Ellen – Director

Hi! My name is Ellen. I’m currently the Director of our Jeffersonville location. I have been with Kids Care Academy since 2012. I am married and have a Pre-School aged daughter. I graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and also hold a Bachelor’s degree from IUS. I will receive my Master’s in clinical mental health counseling in April. 

Emily – Assistant Director

I’m Emily, an Assistant Director at the Jeffersonville location. I have been with Kids Care Academy since 2014. I have eleven years of experience teaching young children. My background includes directing children’s ministries at a local church and previously working at another licensed center. I just completed my Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I am married and currently a foster mom.

Jessica – Supervisor

Hello, I’m Jessica and I have been with KCA for 7 years. I have a total of 16 years of experience in childcare so far. I have a CDA and am currently pursuing my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education through Ivy Tech.

New Albany KCA

Brittney – Co-Director

I am Brittney White and I and the co-director at the New Albany location. This year I will be starting my third year with KCA. I started as a lead teacher with toddlers. Before I began working at KCA, I was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years and homeschooled my children for seven years. My husband and I have four children and I am currently working on my Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at IUS.

KCA Advisory Board

Kids Care Academy is an active participant in Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating and Improvement System, Paths to QUALITY.


Because we are enrolled in this program and its sole purpose is to help us provide quality child care, we created a Kids Care Academy Advisory Board.


The Advisory Board at Kids Care Academy was formed in March 2012 to help the owner respond to the needs of the children and families who are enrolled at KCA. The purposes of the Board are to provide input and support to the owner, to assist in the strategic planning for the center, and to ensure the provision of quality care.


Our board consists of community members, KCA families, and KCA staff; all of our members have something special to contribute to our center. We believe the contributions of the Advisory Board give us a distinct advantage in terms of quality, forward-thinking, and the development of Kids Care Academy for your children.
